Biography
Dr. Marasà, MD, is a nephrologist and Head of the Unit of Pathophysiology at the Clinical Research Center for Rare Diseases “Aldo e Cele Daccò” at the Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri IRCCS in Bergamo. Her main interests include translational and clinical research in glomerular diseases and genetic kidney diseases.
After completing the fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Pavia, Italy, she has worked as attending nephrologist at the Unit of Nephrology and Dialysis of the Ospedali Riuniti di Bergamo, Italy, and then moved to the United States where she was Project Coordinator at the Division of Nephrology, and Associate Director of Clinical Engagement at the Center for Precision Medicine and Genomics in the Department of Medicine at Columbia University, New York.
She currently serves as principal or co-investigator in clinical trials of novel treatments for C3 glomerulopathy, Immune-complex mediated MPGN, hemolytic-uremic syndrome, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, membranous nephropathy and IgA nephropathy. She has coauthored over 70 peer-reviewed publications in international journals.
