Biography
José María Mora Gutiérrez, MD, Ph.D. is a nephrologist graduated from the Clínica Universidad de Navarra (2015). He completed his studies in Medicine at the Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Costa Rica and completed his specialization in Nephrology at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. In 2015 he completed a training stay at the Glomerular Center of Columbia University Medical Center (New York) working closely with doctors Gerald Appel and Andrew Bomback. Dr. Mora received in 2017 the International Ph.D. degree of the School of Medicine of Universidad de Navarra, qualified as «Sobresaliente Cum Laude» and Extraordinary Doctorate Award, thanks to the translational research carried out on biomolecular and radio-image markers in diabetic nephropathy. He has collaborated in the development of new magnetic resonance techniques for the study of renal microvasculature in clinical research. He served as co-investigator on a clinical trial related to antiviral therapies on kidney transplantation and the Emerging Cardiovascular Risk Factors Research Group of the Navarra Research Institute of Health (IdisNa). He has presented and collaborated in more than 30 research papers at national and international congresses since 2011. Author several indexed publications. He is currently acquiring a degree in Theology and Philosophy (Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, Rome) to specialize in Bioethics focused on dialysis and transplantation.
